Verlane is our product. Everything on this page about Rezi comes from Rezi's own public pages as they were on 25 Oct 2026; the sources are listed at the end.
The short answer
Choose Rezi if you want a full resume builder with a wide choice of templates, keyword targeting against a job description, and extras around the resume: AI interview practice, job search tools and, on its Pro plan, a monthly review that Rezi describes as done by a resume and hiring expert.[1][2]
Choose Verlane if you want the tailoring itself held to your own resume, notes and answers, with every sentence checked against that material before you see it.
Both tools can be used through a chat, so the real difference is what the AI is allowed to write from, covered below.

Where Rezi is stronger
If you are building a resume from the ground up, or want more around it than tailoring, these are the points to weigh. Each one comes from the company's own pages, linked at the end.
- Templates. Rezi's home page shows a large gallery of named resume templates, and its Pro plan unlocks all of them. Verlane has three.[1][2]
- A full resume builder. Rezi pairs its AI writer and editor with a summary generator and real-time content analysis that checks for things like filler words and weak bullet points.[1][2]
- Careful keyword targeting. As its home page shows it, Rezi's keyword feature asks whether a missing keyword is relevant to your experience before adding a bullet point, and Rezi says it adds keywords without stuffing.[1]
- Interview practice and a human review. Rezi includes AI interview practice on every plan, and its Pro plan adds a monthly resume review that Rezi describes as done by a resume and hiring expert.[2]
- Job search extras. Rezi's site lists job search, a mobile app for job matches and a Chrome extension that auto-fills applications.[1]
- More ways to pay. Besides the monthly Pro plan, Rezi sells a lifetime plan for a single payment of $149.[2]
Where Verlane is different
Rezi and Verlane both let you work through a chat. The difference is what the AI is allowed to write from.[1]
Verlane works from one set of sources: your resume, the notes and documents you keep in Mindbase, and the answers you give it. The posting decides what matters. It is never a source of claims about you. The work runs in this order.
- It reads the posting into requirements and looks for proof of each one in your resume and notes.
- When something important has no proof, it asks you instead of guessing: up to three questions a run, answered Yes, Partly or No. A No is remembered, so a later run doesn't ask about the same requirement again.
- It writes new text only from that proof and from your answers.
- It checks every suggested sentence against your material before you see it. A sentence without support is cut back to what your material says, or removed.
- It shows each edit with the before and after side by side, and changes nothing until you accept it.
The score and the rest
The match score is a formula you can follow: up to 60 points for how many of the posting's key terms your resume covers, counting the usual other ways of saying them, and up to 40 points for structure. It moves as you accept edits.
The same evidence feeds a cover letter and answers to application questions, in the same chat, so nothing is re-uploaded. A free health check reviews a resume when there is no job in hand.
What Verlane doesn't do
Verlane is a young product with a narrow job: tailoring a resume you already have. Here is what it leaves out, so you can decide before you sign in.
- No job tracker and no browser extension.
- No LinkedIn profile tool.
- No interview practice, no auto-apply and no job board.
- No review of your resume by a person.
- It doesn't open job links. You paste the text of the posting.
- It doesn't identify which applicant tracking system an employer uses.
- Three templates: Minimal, Clean and Vivid.
- Sign-in with Google or email only, and English only.
- A tailoring run takes a few minutes rather than seconds, because every sentence is checked.
Price
Rezi's free plan includes 1 resume and 3 PDF downloads. Pro costs $29 a month, and the lifetime plan is a single payment of $149, according to its pricing page on the date above.[2]
Verlane is free during early access, with no card needed. If that changes, pricing will be announced in the app before anything is charged.

Questions to ask any resume tool
Whichever tool you choose, this one included, these questions tell you whether the result will hold up in an interview.
- Where did this sentence come from? A trustworthy tool can point to the line in your resume or notes, or to the answer you gave it.
- What happens when I don't meet a requirement? Does the tool ask you, or does a matching line simply appear?
- Can I see each change before and after, and turn it down?
- Does anything check the output before I see it, or does the model's first draft go straight into my resume?
- Are the numbers in my bullets ones I measured? Percentages are the most common invention.
- Could I talk about every line for two minutes in an interview? If not, the line isn't mine yet.
Using both
Both tools tailor, so most people will settle on one for that. Rezi's interview practice is the piece Verlane has no counterpart for; if you want it, it can sit alongside whichever tool writes your resume.[2]
Whatever you combine, keep one master copy of your resume, and put the questions above to every line that comes back.
Looking for a Rezi alternative?
Is Verlane a Rezi alternative?
For tailoring to a specific posting, yes. Verlane writes only from your own material and checks every sentence before you see it. Rezi is a broader resume builder with many templates, interview practice and job search tools; if those matter more, Rezi covers ground Verlane leaves out.[1][2]
Does Verlane have as many templates as Rezi?
No. Verlane has three, Minimal, Clean and Vivid, with PDF and Word downloads. Rezi's gallery is much larger.[1]
Will Verlane add keywords I don't have?
No. A key term goes in only where your resume, notes or answers support it. If a posting asks for something Verlane can't find, it asks you. Say yes and the line goes in; say no and it stays out.
Is Verlane free?
Yes, during early access, and no card is needed. Pricing will be announced in the app before anything is charged.
